Don Norris has scheduled two, two day Beginning Silversmithing Class on Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18, from 9 AM to 6 PM each day.
Monday and Tuesday, March 19 and 20, from 9 AM to 6 PM each day.
These classes will be held at my new shop/classroom at 9051 West Dudley, Tucson. Don will shuttle the students from the Gallery to the shop and back each day.
Fantasy Cuff Workshop Instructor: Gale Thomssen
Tucson based jewelry artist works and creates in her Cactus Wren Artisan studio. She combines her 34 year love of creating jewelry and teaching. She enjoys working with copper and combining ingredients.
Gale has taught classes in Tucson for 5 years. She displays her work in two galleries in Arizona. She has also exhibited in shows throughout Arizona, Maine and Nevada. Gale was honored by receiving the Worldwide Who’s Who, 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year representing the Jewelry Design industry.
Gale retired from the Health field in 2012 and is now able to pursue her full time love of creating and sharing her inspirations. She is the owner of Cactus Wren Artisans. Skill Level: All
Fees: $45 » kit included (handout, all materials, supplies and use of tools).
No experience necessary. This class will combine two layers of copper with various beads and findings. Then students will use paste patinas to enhance the colors of the chosen beads creating a unique fantasy cuff. Each student will learn 2 cold connections methods, use of paste patinas, as well as folding of copper. Students will learn about annealing and use of the tools and equipment needed to create their cuff.
